More Wool

We have so many new yarns in stock and now that my camera is working again I can let you see some of the photos.

Trudi has organized them so well.

Also lots of new sock yarn and some of the old favourites.

This Manos yarn is wonderful, a mixture of silk and Merino wool.

This (Noro Yarn) is what Maria has knitted and is at this moment felting it to then cut it and stitch it up to make a baby's cot blanket/cover. It is at the moment 18' long so we will just have to wait and see what happens, I will try and keep you posted if she lets me see it or even talks to me ever again as it was my suggestion, I sit here trembling.

Golden Wedding

I know this has nothing to do with knitting but I thought I would just share these few pictures with you.This was the Golden Wedding of my parents,
The reception was in a marque at my Christels (my sisters) house, the marque was put up by my nephews Martin, Richard and Ross. It was pouring with rain on the day but everything was lovely. Having the day off I enjoyed doing the flowers and having the time to do it

CASHMERE BABY SHAWL

It was around last September that Frances Gardener and another Frances came into the shop an each of them bought 2ply cashmere, and this is the result...............
This is 2ply 100%pure cashmere and it just feels like a cloud, wonderful..pure luxury.

I am Back

Wow, my last entry was the third of April, I am back, and hopefully here to stay.

Last weekend Woolfish had a stand at Gardening Scotland Trudi and Linda were just great at the show, as was Grace who came on Saturday.

Both Linda and Grace are at the Woolfish Knitting Group.

Sunny Thursday

What a lovely day, it is so warm, I think, this time last week it was trying to snow and this week we are getting rid of our winter woollies, but then I remember the Scottish saying when translated into understandable English 'Never get rid of your winter clothes until the end of May'-I have written it this way because I can't spell it the Scottish way.

Which brings me on to Jane and Wally, they came into the shop when Trudi was looking after it and bought this pair of socks, ideal for walking in cold wintry weather which is when they bought them, Trudi managed to get Jane to model them, they can also be Kilt socks

Last Sunday Trudi and I were in Kelso and we passed this castle, it is Hume Castle and very impressive. The borders is such a romantic place, which is quite often overlooked which many people zoooooom past on the way to "SCOTLAND"
As you maybe can tell, I am learning about the computer and blogging as I go along, yesterday I had a back-handed comment from David McIntosh from Springbank http://www.springbankcottage.co.uk/

I was having lunch there, which was delicious I might add. Anyway he said that he had looked at this website and said that Trudi had done a good job, I told him that I had done it, He - thinking I must be about 100 years old- said that he thought a young person had done it. I think he realized at that moment what he had just implied, there were other customers in and they were offering to get him a shovel, we all had such a laugh :0)

woolfish deliveries

We got a few deliveries of wonderful wool through the week, one of the boxes from Designer Yarns had this little drawing on it, we thought it was a nice touch. The people from Designer Yarns couldn't have been more helpful, they are the company we get our Debbie Bliss, Louisa Harding, Noro Yarns from.

Sock Yarn

Yesterday http://thehappyquilter.blogspot.com/ came into Woolfish and showed me her 'sock',I do think it is very impressive. She is now working on the second one, in between working on her wonderful patchwork,

Also a lady-who is staying with a friend of hers from Holy Island- came in today wearing a jumper she had knitted from sock yarn she had bought from me last year, it looks great, she has bought some more so we are looking forward to next year when she bring the next jumper in---watch this space!
